In 1981, it was awarded the EMYA (European Museum of the Year Award) for being the first and most well-equipped folk art museum in Europe. In 1999, the Peloponnesian Folklore Foundation commemorated both the arrival of the new millennium and its 25th anniversary. The latest exhibition named The Best of the PLI sought to showcase the depth and diversity of its collections, which currently includes over 27,000 exhibits. The Foundation additionally produces cards, calendars, and posters, and also releases books and academic journals.
